Breast Tissue Marker & Breast Tissue Fiducial Markers

BiomarC® Markers are designed to improve accuracy and efficiency in breast radiation therapy. They provide maximum versatility for modalities and treatments such as IGRT/IMRT, proton therapy, CT, MRI and portal imaging. Areas marked with BiomarC® markers provide clear, visual landmarks with no uncertainty between healthy tissue and the target area.
They are ideal for:

  • Lesion localisation

  • Marking surgical sites or margin areas

  • Confirming tumour shrinkage and final excision

  • Marking tumours at the time of diagnosis

Breast Tissue Markers

BiomarC® Breast Tissue Marker Device

  • Bar-bell shaped, pyrolytic carbon–coated ceramic marker

  • Exceptional biocompatibility with no reported allergies or hypersensitivity

  • Unique shapes designed to prevent migration

  • Clear, permanent visibility on mammography, ultrasound, MRI, and tomosynthesis

  • Produces less artifact than metal markers and does not interfere with MRI

  • Available in three size configurations

  • Compatible with core biopsy and vacuum-assisted biopsy devices (VAB)

Intended Uses

  • Targeting lesions during neo-adjuvant chemotherapy

  • Marking site after tumour removal

  • Marking micro-calcification areas after VAB

  • Marking suspicious lesions after core biopsy

  • Providing orientation for radiation therapy planning

BiomarC® IGRT Radiotherapy: Fiducial Marker for Radiation Therapy

  • Used for localisation of lesions or organs that move relative to external anatomy

  • Pure gold, specially knurled cylindrical version to inhibit migration

  • Pyrolytic carbon–coated zirconium oxide or tantalum barbell version helps reduce imaging artifacts

  • Provides visualisation under fluoroscopy, X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound and other imaging modalities

  • Available preloaded in a pre-waxed needle or in a wax-free version

  • BiomarC® EX reduces artifacts in the MV setting

  • BiomarC® Pro is ideal for Proton or Photon therapy

Breast Tissue Fiducial Markers

BiomarC® Enhance

  • Designed for customers who use MRI for treatment planning. BiomarC® Enh enjoys all the same benefits as our legacy BiomarC®, while providing a superior reference for MRI image fusion

  • This marker is designed for soft tissue localisation using kV imaging

  • Easily visible on MRI

  • Available preloaded in a needle or individually packaged for flexibility in placement

  • Available in a 1x3mm and 1x5mm configuration

BiomarC® Gold

  • Our gold fiducial markers are used as a tool to aid in tumour localisation

  • 99.9% pure gold

  • Bright imaging characteristics making it easier to identify through dense tissue

  • Knurlised surface to help minimise migration

  • Available in several sizes

  • Sold sterile individually or in pre-loaded needle

BiomarC® Secure

Feel confident with the reliable placement of “BiomarC® Secure”. BiomarC®, the industry’s only ceramic fiducial marker, now has the ability to be sutured to soft tissue. The precise nature of a marker sutured to the affected tissue allows for the ultimate benefit in precision radiation therapy.

  • Carbon coated for exceptional biocompatibility

  • Ceramic core to minimise artifact and dose perturbation

  • Superior radiographic visibility under multiple imaging modalities

BiomarC® Ex

One of our newest markers; it provides excellent visibility for both kV and MV imaging. This marker is manufactured with a slightly denser core material allowing for enhanced daily images. It can be especially helpful on larger patients or patients with bony or implant interference with treatment planning.

  • Exceptional material combination reduces artifact

  • Excellent visibility allowing for tighter margins and increased dosing

  • Extraordinary biocompatibility with the pyrolytic carbon outer coating

  • Available in a 0.9x5mm and 1x5mm configuration

BiomarC® Pro

Uniquely designed for the special needs of a Proton centre; this marker is manufactured to minimise artifact and perturbation. It is designed for soft tissue localisation using kV imaging

  • Exclusive material compatible to proton beam

  • Precise localisation

  • Easily visible and available in multiple lengths for versatility

  • Available in a 0.9x5mm, 1x5mm and 1x10mm configuration
